Annie Yim

Annie first encountered yoga in year 2001 and immediately connected with the traditional practice. The union of mind, body and breath resonated with her and she knew then that she would dedicate her life to pursuing and sharing this practice. Over the years, she has dabbled with various forms of yoga, including Hatha, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Iyengar, Bikram and Sivananda. Annie lived in India for a year in 2005 where she deepened her practice and understanding of yoga beyond a form of physical exercise.

Taking what was supposed to be a year-long sabbatical from her Corporate job, Annie did a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Course with Sivananda Vedanta Center in Tyrol, Austria. A chance encounter brought her to a Yoga Conference in Australia where she experienced how yoga can be used to heal various forms of trauma. Annie is passionate about making yoga accessible to differently-abled people, the elderly and kids, constantly experimenting techniques and methodologies to make yoga accessible.

Mindfulness, breath and alignments are key to her classes. Being fully aware of the  breath and the body in space would allow one to practice in a safe environment. Annie often tailor her classes to suit different strengths and abilities, and is a firm believer in using yoga to heal various modern day ailments and muscle stiffness.
